Our hoof care methods are based on the latest findings of Linda Harris (TACT USA). Linda worked according to the principles of Natural Barefoot Movement for many years until her own horse refused to move. This experience was a real eye-opener for her. Thanks to her thirst for knowledge and tireless research into hoof anatomy, her expertise has expanded to include many insights that remain unknown to many barefoot trimmers and veterinarians. Veterinarians repeatedly confirm that this level of anatomical knowledge is not taught. Friends and acquaintances who have completed training as farriers or barefoot trimmers confirm this.We are deeply indebted to Linda, because through her we were able to acquire knowledge that has not only helped our own horses to stand on healthy hooves, but now also hundreds of other horses. For example:The coronary band acts as a fire brigade: it grows over the frog. While this process does save the hoof from shedding if the hoof capsule is trimmed increasingly smaller, the coronary band cannot replace the function of the frog itself.If the heels are rasped/beveled down to the level of the frog, this affects the entire rear hoof area -> The bulbs of the hoof can be turned inwards.The "floating" in the lateral area of the hoof occurs automatically in a deformed hoof.Stress cracks occur when the hoof capsule is too small or too large in the wrong places.The frog can disappear inside the hoof capsule. In that case, a frog is still visible, but it is not made of frog horn, but rather of the coronary band.Our training program will introduce you to the topic step by step without overwhelming you.

If you're really into horseshoes, you'll check them even more often. Later, hoof care, like picking out the hooves, will become second nature.

How long will it take me to process this?

That depends on various factors. But one thing is certain: we DIY hoof trimmers don't have to do all four hooves at once, and we don't have to finish all four hooves in 20 minutes. We can take our time. At the beginning, for example, trimming both front hooves might take an hour (washing, photographing, trimming, photographing).The session should be very relaxed and a positive experience for both participants. A little massage for the horse now and then (or for you if your partner is at the stable :)))... no one would say no to that.
